So I’ve been back from my great West Coast USA adventure with Ben for almost a year now. It was honestly one of the best holidays I’ve ever had.
Photographically-speaking, it was one of the most snap-happy and challenging. I realised that when I go on holidays (to places like Rome, for example), I’m instantly drawn to the little details. A plate of caprese, a pretty doorway, some ancient steps. But in the States, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the vastness of it all. The huge open roads, high buildings gorgeous views.
I’ve started going through the thousands of shots, and I’m not really sure where to start (chronologically? by theme? or just a mish mash of my faves?). While I make up my mind and work my way through ’em, I’m posting some of the Instagram pics I took, both as a quick round up of what we did and a taster of what’s to come.
The Instagram app was a relatively new discovery of mine at the time, and I loved using it on hols. It allowed me to fire off quick, impulsive shots and also to shoot where the light wasn’t particularly great (which is why there were so many shots of tacos in my Instagram feed. Well, that, and we ate a lot of tacos).
Some highlights below, loads more shots to come soon!
