A few snaps from a recent delicious trip to Camden Kitchen with some friends. Slightly off the busy beaten track that is Camden Street, this chilled, unassuming little spot serves some seriously impressive dishes.
Chef and owner Padraic Hayden has worked in places like L’Ecrivan and The Dylan Hotel, and his expertise is clear as soon as the beautifully presented plate hits your table. I’d really recommend the early bird, around €24 for three courses.
I absolutely love ordering fish when I’m out, as I don’t cook it enough at home. And hey, if it comes with a smattering of crispy bacon bits, all the better.
The lavender and honey madeleines (served with with buttermilk ice cream) were a divine dessert, as was Ben’s cheese plate, which I kept eyeing up greedily (check out those finely sliced grapes!) until he generously loaded up a cracker for me. Camden Street has lots of casual dining spots, but it’s nice to head somewhere that has the champagne touch every now and then (with close-to-lemonade prices, thankfully!).
