When we were in London last month, Ben and I picked up a second-hand Canon 300V at a stall in Portobello. It’s a film camera, but the brilliant thing about it is that it takes the EF lenses from our digital kit. We picked up some super cheap 35mm film in a pound shop and just got some pics developed.

The thing that gave me a buzz about shooting film as a kid still does now – not quite remembering what’s on a roll, and having pics within those 24 shots that could be days or even weeks apart. Despite the massive leap in both gear and digital processing, I think there is a richness and warmth to film shots – even super cheap ones – that’s hard to beat.

Shot of the sun lounger, the artwork in the Rob Ryan shop window, and the cheesy pic of me all taken by Ben

Gorgeous, summer just exudes from all of them! Film shots get me every time, there’s a quality to them that I just can’t resist!

Thanks Ciara! I’m loving messing around with the film camera.
