Garden Heaven magazine

Recent work: Garden Heaven 2015 annual | nathalie.ie

So, while working away planning the May-June issue of Image Interiors & Living, the team and I managed to sneak in an entire extra magazine: the Garden Heaven 2015 annual. As editor, I was fortunate enough to get to work with (and learn from!) some of Ireland’s best garden writers, who contributed some really beautiful, insightful, evocative pieces that left me longing to get my hands dirty and dig deep into soil (as well as buy far too many packets of seeds on Seedaholic).

We also got to collaborate with someone I have huge admiration for, photographer Cliona O’Flaherty, on a very cool floral photoshoot that didn’t even involve a camera… I kid you not. You’ll have to get the magazine to see what I mean (head to image.ie for a preview) but in the meantime I just wanted to share our pretty peony cover and a couple of pics from shoots I worked on.

You can get Garden Heaven in all good newsagents, supermarkets and selected garden centres now. I’m proud to say that I think we’ve created something that both dedicated green-fingered gardeners and newbies will enjoy. I’d love to hear what you think!

I’m in love with the cover <3 I'll have to get my hands on a copy, I'm especially intrigued by the insightful gardening pieces. I've been meaning for a long time to start gardening but I live in a tiny flat and my windows are not very well exposed. I found out about community gardens and I'm thinking of joining one, gardening and more specifically growing your own produce is such a wonderful, priceless skill.
Congrats on the beautiful (as usual) photography! xnora

Thanks Nora! Yes, there are some fantastic community gardens around (in fact, there was a feature all about it in last year’s Garden Heaven! I can send it in an email to you, if you like?). I hear you about having not great light, I lived in an apartment like that last year! I think I managed to keep some mint and rosemary going, they’re both pretty hardy.

yes i agree mint is a bit of a warrior herb, and I had some luck with basil too when it’s a good quality plant. I’ll have to try rosemary, I never thought of it before!
I would love to read that article if that’s not too much of a bother for you to send it. My address is theartofexploringblog@gmail.com
