Some pics from an impromptu call in to Lotts & Co, a new grocer on the South Lotts Road.
There are lots of brilliant things about living in Ringsend – a lovely park, having the Sandymount strand right there, and being super close to town. But one of the things I miss the most about living in the Camden Street area is the fresh bread from Bretzel and fresh fruit and veg from Evergreen.
Lotts & Co may just be the answer to that. Set in a former car showroom, the gang behind other local faves Paulie’s Pizza and The Old Spot have given it a serious makeover. Outside it’s all cute crates with fresh produce on display and pretty bouquets. Inside, it’s bright and super modern with white subway tiles, industrial lighting, open shelving, lots of fresh grub and healthy eats and American-style brown paper bags.
It’s just up the road from us, and I can’t decide what I’m most excited about – the cheese counter (yes, a cheese counter!), the fresh fish, the flame-roasted rotisserie, or the fact that they’re open until 8pm on weekdays. Ben and I only called in for a few minutes (just long enough to pick up some Manchego and some insanely delicious St Tola ash log goat cheese), but we left pretty impressed. I’m looking forward to going back (and taking some pics of the interiors).
