Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it
Hola! How was your weekend? We threw a mini Halloween party for my nephews and niece, complete with apple bobbing, fake spider web and sparklers. I’d forgotten how magical sparklers were! I made a little gif from my shots, above, to celebrate their awesomeness.
Click though for a couple more snaps…
As Ben and I took Ethan out for a quick trick or treat around the neighbourhood, I realised – right as we were about to ring the door bell of our first house – that I hadn’t actually ever done this before. Growing up on the circus, we celebrated Halloween there. The oddness of knocking on strangers’ houses and getting sweets seemed all the funnier doing it for the first time as an adult!
It was also lovely seeing how much fun really simple games – from bobbing for apples, to “guess the goo” to just knocking a balloon about – still were. Doughnuts-on-a-string proved to be great craic too, especially for the grown ups.
We sent the kids off giddy and full of sugar (sorry Kel!) before settling down for what was supposed to be scary movie, but we were so tired we both fell asleep on the couch before midnight (rock and roll). Hope you had a good one!
